Fluocinolone acetonide

Synalar 10/Synalar 25 Treatment of a wide variety of local inflammatory, pruritic & allergic disorders of the skin & mucosa. Insect bite reactions, photodermatitis, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, eczematous dermatitis, lichen planus, prurigo nodularis, pretibial myxedema, necrobiosis, lipoidica, neurodermatitis, intertriginous psoriasis, nummular eczema, discoid lupus erythematosus, exfoliative dermatitis, pruritus ani et vulvae, lichen simplex chronicus, intertrigo, otitis externa & stasis dermatitis. Synalar HP Relief of the inflammatory manifestations of corticosteroid responsive dermatoses. Psoriasis vulgaris, lichen planus, eczematous dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, neurodermatitis keloids, hypertrophic scars & other localized conditions.

Synalar 10/Synalar 25 Open therapy Apply lightly to the affected skin area bid-tid w/ gentle but thorough massage. Decrease dose gradually as condition is under control. Occlusive dressing therapy Sparingly apply to the lesion & gently rub in. Apply further thin coat then cover the area completely w/ a pliable nonporous film. Synalar HP Apply lightly to the affected skin area bid-tid, rub in gently & thoroughly until it disappears. Decrease dose gradually as condition is under control.

Hypersensitivity.

Not for ophth use. Prolonged use may cause atrophy of the skin. Significant systemic absorption when applied over large areas of the body. Lesions close to the eye. In the presence of infection, discontinue use until it has been adequately controlled. Women of childbearing potential. Pregnancy (especially 1st trimester) & lactation. Childn. Synalar HP Do not use for prolonged periods (not exceeding 2 g). Discontinue if no response observed during the 1st wk of therapy. Discontinue or reduce dose if HPA axis suppression is noted particularly in childn. Do not use on infants ≤2 yr.

Burning, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform eruptions, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, maceration of the skin, secondary infection, skin atrophy, striae, miliaria.

Topical Corticosteroids

D07AC04 - fluocinolone acetonide ; Belongs to the class of potent (group III) corticosteroids. Used in the treatment of dermatological diseases.
